Hope to grief
Hope to Grief
I see you.
I know how heavy you are.
I know how you arrive quietly at night and loudly in the middle of celebrations.
I know how you ache most when love had no chance to finish being lived.
You are not a failure of faith.
You are proof that love was real.
I won’t ask you to leave.
I won’t rush you forward.
I will sit with you in the empty spaces and remind you that God is still here too.
I know you are tired of waiting.
I know two years can feel like forever when your heart remembers what safety felt like.
But waiting does not mean forgotten.
And pain does not mean abandoned.
Grief, you can rest here for a moment.
I will carry the promise when you cannot.
I will hold the future and the hope until your hands are ready again.
We will walk slowly.
We will walk honestly.
And when you can’t see the road, I will remind you—
there is still a future,
there is still a hope,
and you are still deeply, divinely loved.
