The greatest man I ever knew

The greatest man I ever knew…

I have many blessings in my life. But I will tell you the last 14 years of my life have been as close to what heaven must be like. I never thought a love like this was ever available to me this side of heaven. But God gave me my reward and His very best when He gave me Michael Shaw. His Godly leadership, his strength, the standards he never wavered on, his compassion, his passionate speeches, his long prayers, how he could move heaven to act, he was a constant encourager, his love for his children and his love for me was ever present in everything he did.

Oh he would tell you quickly he wasnt perfect by a long shot but there are many times his perfect answer came after lots of time spent with the Lord. Mornings were filled with me finding him on his knees in the living room or laying face down on the floor praying to God for me, his children, our friends, and for everything he was responsible for. He loved the Lord first of all. It was so beautiful to watch.

He was a man who was so many things to so many people. Yet such a pillar for his family. I know that it’s because of the grace of God that I have been given such the gift of having Michael’s love. Being his wife made me a better woman and a better momma.

Michael received his heavenly miracle 7 months ago. It was not the earthly miracle I wanted. But I am still trusting the Lord and He is still good. I’m still not sure how to navigate my life without him but I am trusting the Lord every step of the way. I watched a video last night while Michael was in the hospital, he said, I love you beautiful, you are my beauty inside and out, and you always will be.” Seven months without him and it’s not any easier.

I will love you forever and always Michael Shaw. This picture was taken at Cabbage Key. We along with our friends, Trey and Tiffany placed a dollar bill on the wall. I hope to get back there one day to find it.
